Dr. Casey Means and the rabbit hole

As part of my journey I have been listening to hundreds of hours of podcasts and youtube about weight loss. This has gotten me down a rabbit hole of mitochondrial dysfunction and insulin resistance. These are two things that I (self diagnosed) am impacted by and so my journey has lead me more towards dealing with these areas which will ultimately assist in my weight loss objective.

One of the key speakers and experts on mitochondrial dysfunction is Dr. Casey Means. I heard her speak at a conference and it was an absolute ah ha moment realizing how correct she was that the standard American diet has severely damaged my cell function. So step 1 is to focus on improving this which will then lead to the other success.

I will endeavor to provide more real more detailed information into future blog posts. But for now, just no that those little cell mitochondria which we learned about in grade 5 biology which are the powerhouse of the cells can become sick and weak and we need to look after them. How, diet, exercise, reducing (read eliminating… refined sugars, and refined carbohydrates ughhh).
