Whistler is not only a place for hard core skiing or hiking in the mountains, it is now being built on a much more solid base of events and attractions that could quickly add up to a world-class destination resort far beyond the dog eared pages of Powder magazine…. What I am talking about is the pieces of the puzzle that are now coming together to give Whistler a slightly more nouveau backdrop. They include such spectacular events as the Telus ski and Snowboard Festival as well as Cornucopia and now more recently Whistler Wellness week. Let’s put Whistler on the map in a way that will leave it second to nothing!!!!!

Beginning on the 28th of April until May 6th there is a veritable plethora of events and wellness symposiums that will not only give you food for thought but also possibly make you think about the food you thought was good and what food maybe could do with some improvement.(kids, it’s time to relinquish your hold on the Tim Tam packet and instead reach for the juicy freshness of an organic kiwi or banana…..Ahhhh, you can just taste the difference, so much more to organic food than just pulp and water.)

But, I must stress (that’s why I am attending the event as well!!) that this is simply the beginning (the food you are eating I mean!!) there is every possible type of event, listing and seminar on every aspect of mind, body and spirit. There are also some fabulous specials not to be missed.(read Locals deals!)

I always believe that if you can improve your life by even 1% why wouldn’t you??? But, with the wellness week everyone has so much opportunity to improve the quality of their life that even just the mention of 1% improvement simply pales in comparison to the actual improvement you could achieve in your life. There are also activities that you may not be familiar with , such as Nordic walking. Now one would imagine, that living in Whistler’s cool mountain top area that we are always Nordic walking right??? Well, apparently not! Nordic walking offers one the opportunity to get a full body work-out in a very low impact manner. For more information contact Jo Younker through Meadow Park, she will also be giving demonstrations throughout Whistler Wellness week.

Now, if this is not enough of a tease to entice you to attend then, I will be personally handing out Tim Tams in the Village Square at 5:30am on the 6th of May in my easter Bunny outfit!! (just kidding o.k!)
